Why limit happy to an hour? Havana 1920, GBOD Hospitality Group’s intimate Cuban restaurant located at 548 Fifth Ave. in the Gaslamp Quarter, will ditch the clock and honor National Happy Hour Day with an all-day celebration beginning at 11 a.m. exclusively on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
Havana 1920’s lineup of happy hour favorites includes croquetas, available with ham and cheese or chicken, priced at $2; papas rellenas, potatoes stuffed with either picadillo or cheese, priced at $3; and empanadas filled will flavorful options like ham and cheese, vegetarian, Cubanita and beef, priced at $4.
Those who want to enjoy a little bit of everything can dig into the bocaditos platter, featuring fried green plantains, two chicken croquettes, a cheese-stuffed papas rellenas, a picadillo-stuffed papas rellenas, a ham and cheese empanada and a vegetarian empanada, priced at $12.
Guests can also get into the spirit with refreshing handcrafted cocktails such as the signature Havana 1920 Daiquiri, made with Havana 1920 Rum, fresh lime juice and Demerara, with the choice of original, guava, mango, coconut or passion fruit flavors, priced at $7.50; the Havana 1920 Mojito, a combination of Havana 1920 Rum, fresh lime juice, mint, Demerara and club soda, priced at $7.50; and bottles of Cerveza Hatuey, priced at $5.
Groups can share pitchers of Caribbean Sangria, made with Havana 1920 Rum, red wine, coconut rum, Demerara, fresh squeezed orange juice, mint and cinnamon; Hotel Nacional, crafted with Havana 1920 Rum, fresh pineapple juice, fresh lime juice, apricot liqueur, R&D Aromatic #7 bittersueur and R&D Aromatic #7 bitters; and Cuba Libre, Havana 1920 Rum and fresh lime juice served with Mexican Coke, each available for $7 off.
