Vista ordinance prompts legal action surrounding day laborers
Day laborers, and those who hire them, are at the center of controversy in Vista. Host Tom Fudge discusses a new ordinance that will require employers to register with the City before hiring workers off the street. Both the City of Vista and the ACLU say they are trying to protect day laborers, but claims of prejudice, violations of freedom of speech, and hidden agendas are being lodged against the City's in a lawsuit filed by the ACLU.
