KPBS has learned that U.S. Attorney Carol Lam has announced her resignation. In a memo to her staff, Lam said the resignation will take effect February 15th. Lam’s departure comes nearly one week after the White House asked her to step down. She’s one of several U.S. attorneys who is being pushed out by the Bush administration. Democrats call it a purge. Administration officials say replacing U.S. attorneys is not unusual. Host Gloria Penner talks with Full Focus reporter Amita Sharma about Lam's departure.
