Local Catholic Diocese Faces Questions in Bankruptcy Court
Tom Fudge: This week, the Catholic Diocese of San Diego faces some serious court appointments. Among other things, this week's hearing could force some of the lawsuits about sexual abuse by priests to jury trials. The diocese has sought bankruptcy protection to avoid those trials. But the bankruptcy judge has been critical of the church for being less than forthcoming about its financial situation.
