According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, hate crimes rose across the country in 2007. Many of the reported hate crimes have centered around the issue of immigration, particularly in states like C

We're also learning of a rise in hate crimes against Latinos. Meanwhile, the immigration debate is stirring more tension among Americans worried about their own jobs.
