A San Diego middle school is in lockdown as police investigate a report of an explosion inside a trash can at the school.
Wagenheim Middle School in the San Diego suburb of Mira Mesa was put on lockdown shortly before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police spokesman Gary Hassen tells the San Diego Union-Tribune that students already in the school are being kept in classrooms and those arriving for class are being kept outside.
