Chapter Synopsis
They abandon the dead car in a parking lot. Mary-Jo drives them to the Trailways bus station and helps them buy their tickets. She asks Nayeli what she is going tell her mother about her father. She replies she will tell her nothing, that he was gone. She hugs Mary-Jo and gets on the bus home.
