We haven't even started dealing with winter, but the Old Globe is already getting its audiences excited about summer.

The Balboa Park theater announced its summer season on Friday and it's filled with big-name shows, a world-premiere comedy and even celebrities.

The season opens with "Richard II," starring 1990s (thinking girls') teen heart throb and Globe favorite, Robert Sean Leonard.

He'll play the title role in the Shakespeare tragedy about a reckless king convinced of his divine right to rule. Directed by Erica Schmidt, the play runs June 11 to July 15, 2017 at the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

That's followed by an all-time theater favorite, "Guys and Dolls." Considered one of the greatest musicals of all time, this is the Globe's first time putting on this production. The show will be directed by Josh Rhodes and will feature songs like "Luck Be a Lady" and "I've Never Been in Love Before."

"Guys and Dolls" runs July 2 through Aug. 13, 2017 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage.

After that it's the world premiere of Ken Ludwig's "Robin Hood!" running July 22 to Aug. 27, 2017, at the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre. Ludwig is the playwright who previously brought the hilarious "Baskerville: A Sherlock Homes Mystery" to the Globe. Now, he brings that zany spirit to the tale of Robin Hood.

Finally, the summer season closes with the ultimate Shakespeare fan experience: "Hamlet," directed by the Globe's Barry Edelstein. That show promises a cast of standout national actors to be announced later. "Hamlet" runs Aug. 6 through Sept. 10, 2017, at the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.
