A new podcast exploring the Vietnamese-American experience debuted this month.

"Second Wave" is produced by KUOW public radio in Seattle and PRX. In podcast episodes, host Thanh Tan explores the experience of her parent's generation who fled the Vietnam War and settled in the U.S. as refugees and the experience of her generation who were born and raised in the U.S.

Tan joined Midday Edition on Tuesday to discuss the inspiration for the podcast and the topics she will be exploring in the first season.
