With the start of the 2020 candidate debates right around the corner, there's a movement underway to encourage and reflect the surge of young people getting involved in all aspects of politics.

It's called Generation Citizen.

The organization was co-founded by San Diego native Scott Warren while he was a senior at Brown University in 2008. Now, Warren has written a book, "Generation Citizen: The Power of Youth In Our Politics" about his own political awakening and how young people have historically been at the center of political change.

He joins Midday Edition Wednesday to discuss how youth can become more politically active and why voting isn't enough.

GUEST: Scott Warren, author, "Generation Citizen"
