12 , the Russian remake of the 1957 classic 12 Angry Men was one of the films up for discussion on the March KPBS Film Club of the Air. The new film from Academy Award-winning director Nikita Mikhalkov translates the Reginald Rose's screenplay from 1950s America to present day Russia but still explores issues of prejudice. The device used as the premise of both films is a jury of twelve men deliberating a murder case in which all but one man believes the defendant to be guilty. Take a listen to our discussion.
