“Wild Shetland: Scotland's Viking Frontier” puts on display the sheer beauty and drama of Scotland’s most northerly isles — Shetland.
Narrated by actor Ewan McGregor (Star Wars: Episodes I-III) and featuring original music by award-winning Scottish composer Fraser Purdie, the special follows wildlife throughout the seasons, including otters, puffins, spectacular underwater diving gannets, rarely seen storm petrels and an exciting pod of killer whales.
Watch an otter family explore the remote coastline of the sunken fjords in a daily battle for survival and storm petrels return to nest in a 2,000-year-old Iron Age structure.
From a cold winter through a blooming summer, the film captures the beauty and drama of these isles — romantic yet harsh — and provides an overwhelming sense of place.
