Prices at the pump may have finally stopped going up – at least for now.
A new report out by AAA of Northern California finds that most gas prices throughout the state appear to have leveled off. Prices had been slowly climbing. In fact, the average price in California has risen 16 cents over the last month to $3.05 a gallon.
But here’s something that make you feel better about it. Last year at this time, the average price for a gallon of gas in California was $4.12. Nationally, the average price now for a gallon of gas is $2.64.
AAA analysts say in the short term, the national average should hover around the $2.50 a gallon mark thanks to more stable oil prices.
