Film Director Focuses on State's Water Issues
A new documentary investigates California's water crisis. The director of the film joins us on Morning Edition.

California's relationship to water has been the subject a classic film, "Chinatown," and a near-north-south civil war over something called "The Peripheral Canal".

But this time, three years into what looks like a drought with more that of a tenth of the American population within its borders, California may be looking at a water emergency the likes of which we've not seen before.

Joining us on Morning Edition is Jim Thebaut, the writer, director and executive producer of "The American Southwest: Are We Running Dry?" The documentary airs at 11 tonight, May 19th on KPBS TV.
