Warnings From The Congressional Budget Office
A report from the Congressional Budget Office this week shows growth at 3.1%, lower than the recently projected 3.3%. And a decline in growth in 2019 to 2.4%, and down to 1.7% in 2020.
But the even bigger warning is about the deficit. It's at $800 billion this year, double what it was in 2016. It's on track to hit $1 trillion by 2020.
Amazon Interested In Landmark Theatres
Amazon is already in the content creation business and the streaming business, but now it could be in the running to buy a chain of movie theaters. Amazon is reportedly interested in buying Landmark Theatres, a California-based chain with two locations in San Diego.
Should this sale go through, Amazon would be coming out of the virtual world of internet sales and into a physical location, much like it did with Whole Foods. The theaters could be a ready-made distribution chain for products Amazon already makes.
