Mexico City broke a record on Sunday, when more than 18,000 people went to the central square and took their clothes off for a Spencer Tunick picture. It's no coincidence that this capital was a record breaker.
Mexico City is becoming the liberal capital of Latin America. With a leftist government in power, big agenda measures such as early term abortion and gay civil unions have passed. Euthanasia is next on the list for discussion here. But it's not only the legal framework that is shifting.
The very fact that those laws can pass shows that attitudes here are not what they used to be. People are openly gay, there is a rocking art scene, and while many people outside of the country still associate this city of over 22 million people with crime and poverty, Mexico City is being reborn and rebranded.
