Control of Kirkuk Central to Iraq's Stability

The northern city of Kirkuk, with its ethnic tensions and violence, is often viewed as a microcosm of the current situation in Iraq.

In light of Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's visit to the city Tuesday, Joost Hiltermann, deputy of the International Crisis Group, talks with Melissa Block about how Kirkuk is doing, and about whether sectarian leaders there are closer to political reconciliation.
