NPR's business news starts with the merger in the auto industry.

INSKEEP: This deal is between two well-known German carmakers. Porsche and Volkswagen have agreed to integrate operations and create one company. It'll have 10 brands. Porsche already owns a 51 percent stake in VW, which is Europe's largest automaker in terms of sales, and Porsche's CEO had actually been trying to take control of Volkswagen, but because of financial troubles he's had to settle for a merger.
