A San Diego musician known for his versatile range and eclectic tastes is out with his most ambitious album to date. Singer/songwriter A.J. Croce recorded "Twelve Tales" with six famous producers — a recording schedule that took him across the country and took a year to complete.
The name Croce is a hallmark of San Diego's live music history with the legendary Croce's Restaurant and Jazz bar that recently closed in the Gaslamp. It reopened in Bankers Hill as Croce's Park West.
Croce is back in the area to perform at the Belly Up — his only performance in San Diego. Get a sneak peak of him playing "Rollin' On," "Tarnished and Shining" and "The Time Is Up" in the KPBS studio.
A.J. is the son of the musician Jim Croce who died in 1973. During the 1970s, Jim Croce had hits including, "You Don't Mess Around With Jim," "Time In A Bottle" and "Operator."
