A New Season Of 'A Growing Passion' Debuts On KPBS

Host Nan Sterman (pictured) talks with experts, breeders, and collectors who share their best tips and secrets for growing bromeliads in our home gardens.

Garden expert Nan Sterman kicks off the show's seventh season Thursday at 8:30 p.m. on KPBS Television.

A new season of "A Growing Passion" returns to KPBS Television Thursday night.

On the show's 7th season, host and garden expert Nan Sterman, will introduce home gardeners to a wide range of bromeliads, take them on a tour of Southern California’s wildflower “super bloom” and discuss ways to reduce food waste.

Sterman previews the show's seventh season Wednesday on Midday Edition. She also talks about what all the winter rain means for a spring garden.

Marissa Cabrera worked as a producer for KPBS Midday Edition and had previously served as a Newscast Producer for KPBS' Morning Edition. Before joining KPBS she reported on Vatican affairs, social, and cultural issues in Rome, Italy. She also contributed to a documentary on sex abuse in the Catholic Church. Marissa has worked as a multimedia journalist at various news stations in San Diego and Monterey as well as Columbia, Missouri. Marissa graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism.
