Hello from the New York Public Library! I wanted to update you all on the latest news concerning budget negotiations, which, if they fail, will mean the government shutdowns at midnight tonight. CBS news is reporting that the big sticking point is, believe it or not, funding Planned Parenthood. Republicans want it out of the budget, Democrats want it in.
The moving comments from our outraged troops and their families keep pouring into Home Post, and I thank each and every one of you for speaking your minds so passionately. A member of our military who calls himself "broken leg josh" has this to say:
