A toddler seriously injured when a tornado hit the Tarawa Terrace housing complex Saturday night on Camp Lejeune is still hospitalized in critical condition today. encToday.com reports the 23-month-old boy is on a ventilator to help him breath. His injures include a collapsed lung, broken ribs, a broken femur, and a cracked pelvis.
According to encToday.com, three Marines helped save the little boy's life by pulling him from the wreckage of his home: Sgt. Jarred Boone, Lance Cpl. Thomas Dickerson, and Sgt. Greg Shafer. A Navy critical care nurse named Lt.j.g. Jonathan Hamrick administered CPR until the paramedics could arrive and airlift the child to the hospital. Hamrick told encToday:
