Environmental group San Diego Coastkeeper has filed a lawsuit against Camp Pendleton, alleging the Marine base spilled more than 500,000 gallons of raw sewage, with some of the waste possibly making its way into the Pacific Ocean. According to Courthouse News Service, San Diego Coastkeeper's complaint alleges Camp Pendleton lets its sewers overflow way too often, and they want to get to the bottom of why.
The Daily Transcript reports other defendants in the lawsuit include Defense Secretary Robert Gates, the Department of Defense, the Marine Corps, and the Navy.
