Tricare Advises Military Families on Hurricane Preparedness

Just how do you get ready for a hurricane if you've never experienced one before? Tricare, the military's health insurance provider, has released a list of ways for military families to gear up for the possibility of Hurricane Irene hitting their area.

As Home Post reported earlier, the military is urging families in Irene's path (especially those in Norfolk, Virginia) to come up with an evacuation plan NOW, rather than waiting until the last minute. For families who plan to stay and wait out the hurricane, Tricare strongly suggests military families to put together emergency kits with plenty of food, water, and medications. The kits should also contain the following information for each family member:
