New Head for Dover AFB Body Parts Investigation

The Pentagon's investigation into the body parts scandal at Dover Air Force Base mortuary has a new leader, according to the DoD. Last night Defense Secretary Leon Panetta named retired Army Gen. John P. Abizaid to head up the probe into how the mortuary mishandled the remains of fallen servicemembers. Abizaid is the former commander of U.S. Central Command.

Abizaid replaces former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Richard Carmona, who decided to give up chairing the investigation in favor of running for the U.S. Senate.
