Home Post Blog: Felony sex offenders would be forbidden from joining in the United States military under a new measure by Senator Barbara Boxer.
The Marine Corps Times reports the bill is an effort to put some teeth into a 2009 Defense Department policy that bans the distribution of criminal history waivers for prospective service members who’ve been convicted of a felony sex crime.
Boxer says of her legislation: "There is never a reason to allow people convicted of such heinous crimes to be allowed in our military. This will ensure it never happens again." (read more)
