At Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan yesterday, Gen. Charles M. Gurganus, commanding general of the I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), took over command of Regional Command Southwest from Maj. Gen. John A. Toolan, commanding general of the II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), according to DVIDS News.

In preparation of his departure, Battle Rattle reports that last week Toolan hosted a farewell gathering at Camp Leatherneck's Afghan Cultural Center as a way of showing gratitude to several Afghan officials for all their hard work. According to Battle Rattle:
