MCAS Miramar Marine Cpl. Aaron J. Talley, 24, was shot to death Sunday in a private residence in San Antonio, Texas. The San Antonio Express-News reports police have arrested Iraq War veteran Philip Pavelko, 25, and charged him with manslaughter in connection with Talley's death.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Pavelko was chatting with Talley in his dining room about 7 p.m. Sunday when the suspect removed a shotgun that was hanging on a wall. Pavelko reportedly told police he worked the pump action on the shotgun, pointed it at the chest of the victim and pulled the trigger.
According to the Express-News, Pavelko served in the Army for seven years, and was deployed to Iraq three times.
A media release from MCAS Miramar states Talley was a native of Clarissa, Minnesota, who joined the Marines in February of 2007. He worked as a corrections specialist at Miramar's Naval Consolidated Brig.
