Female Soldier Body Armor

Women in the U.S. Army will be able to wear body armor that is more suited for the female form as early as next summer, according to the Army's Program Executive Office Soldier. Female soldiers have been forced to don standard-issue body armor meant for men, leaving parts of their bodies potentially vulnerable to injury.

Stars and Stripes reports:

Officials from Program Executive Office Soldier... will field 100 prototypes this fall to a few female engagement teams from the 101st Airborne Division. Critiques from about 30 women will be used to evaluate and refine the models.

The differences in the new prototype female body armor are described in the U.S. Army video posted above.
