Death Of Female Camp Pendleton Marine In Afghanistan Under Investigation

The Marine Corps is investigating the death of Sgt. Camella M. Steedley, 31, who passed away in Afghanistan on October 3rd, according to the Department of Defense.

Steedley was assigned to Combat Logistics Regiment 17, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton.

According to her Facebook page, Steedley was married to James Steedley. The couple had four children and lived in San Clemente.

The Military Times reports Steedley is the 150th female service member in the U.S. military to die in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and the eighth female Marine.
