The U.S. State Department is giving $100 million in what it calls 'nonlethal' aid to groups attempting to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Pentagon Press Secretary George Little told reporters today Assad is brutalizing the people of Syria, and the U.S. is working with other nations to help the people of Syria:

“That’s where the focus needs to be. Others in the international community don’t quite see eye-to-eye with us and our allies and partners, and I hope that at some point we see greater coherence.”

Little said the United States is providing humanitarian assistance to those fighting to push Assad from leadership.
