U.S. Announces New Beef Safety Rules

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman announces new rules -- effective immediately -- aimed at strengthening the safety of the country's meat supply. For the first time, the regulations ban the use of sick or injured cattle in the human food chain. They also prohibit using cattle brains, spinal tissue and small intestines in food. Hear NPR's Greg Allen.
