A plane carrying first lady Michelle Obama almost collided with a military cargo jet on the runway at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, and had to abort landing, according to the Washington Post. The Post reports the near-collision was the fault of one air traffic controller, who allowed the Boeing 737 carrying Mrs. Obama to come too close to a 200-ton military cargo jet known as a C-17. Other air traffic controllers at Andrews had to act quickly to prevent a tragedy. (Read more)
