Julian volunteer firefighters refuse to leave
The results of a special election last month called for the County Fire Authority to take control of the Julian-Cuyamaca Fire Protection District and dissolve the volunteer staff. However, a recent court ruling states open meeting laws were violated prior to the election. As the legal challenges play out, volunteers are refusing to allow access to one of the fire stations.

San Diego’s electric vehicle roadmap
The San Diego County Board of Supervisors adopted a plan this week to enhance the infrastructure for local electric vehicles. County staff will review the current patchwork of charging stations and incentives for vehicle drivers and present a comprehensive report later this year. San Diego has seen a rise in electric vehicles on local streets and leaders believe the growth of the technology with be a key element in meeting the region’s climate emission goals.
