Emergency officials are bracing for dangerous fire conditions across San Diego County as gusty Santa Ana winds are expected blow into the region.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a red flag warning for inland and mountain areas of the county from 9 a.m. today through 5 p.m. on Friday.
"Warm temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential," NWS reported.
Strong offshore winds gusting up to 45 miles per hour are forecast for the mountains and canyons with humidity levels below 10 percent.
"The winds will be make driving difficult, especially for motorists with high profile vehicles,'' an NWS advisory stated. "Secure loose yard furniture, tents, umbrellas and trash cans, as these items may blow away.''
