Body Found Floating Near San Diego's Ocean Beach Pier

Authorities say San Diego lifeguards pulled a badly decomposed body from the water near Ocean Beach Pier.

Capt. Joe Amador of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department says lifeguards responded Thursday evening after someone called 911 reporting what appeared to be a floating body.

Amador says it was about 100 yards west of the pier, inside the surf line.

He says it appears the deceased person was in the water for a while.

The San Diego Union-Tribune says police and the coroner's office are investigating.
