A week after stormwater runoff contaminated the water supply in Poway, the city lifted the boil-water advisory Friday.
Poway canceled the advisory after test results came back clean and said residents can use tap water for "all purposes," according to a notice posted on the city's website.
The entire city has been under a boil water advisory since Saturday after residents reported brown water coming out of their taps. It was later determined that stormwater flowed into the city's drinking water through an out-of-compliance reservoir system.

Nearly 200 restaurants and markets were shut down because of the contamination. Palomar Medical Center Poway had to cancel an estimated 70 surgeries. The hospital was operating under disaster protocol, turning away ambulances except for extreme emergencies.
A Palomar spokesman said staff will work throughout the night to restore services.
County health officials told KPBS that affected businesses can reopen almost immediately once they flush their water systems.
During the boil-water advisory, the city of Poway handed out more than 1 million bottles of water.
The Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water said the city will be cited for its antiquated stormwater system and could receive a fine. The long term fix for being out of compliance will require a large, multi-million dollar project.
