  • Shelter to Soldier, in proud partnership with Foundation for Women Warriors, is excited to announce its third annual Sisterhood of Service event, presented by L’Auberge Del Mar. Taking place on Thursday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the beautiful L’Auberge Del Mar (1540 Camino Del Mar, Del Mar, CA 92014), this event is a heartfelt celebration recognizing the strength, resilience, and service of women veterans and active-duty military women. Created to foster connection, empowerment, and community, Sisterhood of Service provides a welcoming space for women who have served, and continue to serve, our country. The day will begin with an all-levels yoga session, followed by refreshments, networking opportunities, and access to resources tailored to the needs of women veterans. Attendees will also enjoy a catered lunch, hear from an inspirational guest speaker, and participate in an interactive goal-setting workshop. Admission is free for women veterans and active-duty military members, but an RSVP is required. Then, the Trump administration cut funding to legal aid organizations who represent unaccompanied migrant children in deportation hearings. The organizations are now suing to restore that funding. Finally, President Donald Trump has also cut health care funding that would’ve come from the Centers for Disease Control. San Diego is missing out on $40 million of that funding.

Among her many accolades, she has been a curator of the Drawing Studio at the National Union of Artists of Ukraine in Zaporizhzhia. In 2017 she opened a studio of academic painting ‘V-ART’ and taught painting, drawing, plastic anatomy, coloring, and composition at the collegiate level. In 2022, she was evacuated to the USA due to the war in Ukraine. Over the past 2 years she has created around 300 paintings, and takes part in art shows throughout San Diego. “I think it is, like musical notes, that in painting, we do not have borders, we do not have words, and we have Inspiration… Pure Inspiration is indescribable; you can just feel and take it. That’s precisely why I would like to share these paintings, which were created in San Diego County and reflect the light and landscapes that inspire me every day.
