On Saturday, November 29th, the center will celebrate Santa’s arrival from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests are invited to help welcome Santa to his holiday cabin in the Nordstrom Rack Court where they will enjoy family-friendly crafts (while supplies last), face painting and special appearances by beloved characters – including holiday favorites like Elf on the Shelf and Frosty the Snowman. Live music will fill the air, adding to the festive experience. This event is free of charge and open to the public; no pre-registration is required to attend. Our 17th Annual Warrior Spirit 5K Run/Walk & Family Festival will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2026! Up-Cycling + Sustainable Fashion // Ideal for ages 8-12 Over the course of 6 weeks, young creators dive into the world of sustainable fashion and learn how to design with the planet in mind! This course introduces kids to the basics of eco-friendly fashion, showing them how to transform old or outgrown clothing into fresh, original pieces through up-cycling and thoughtful design. Each week brings a new theme—such as sketching and planning, simple stitching skills, creative mending, embellishment techniques, and building a final wearable project. Students will practice customizing a tote bag, refreshing denim, creating patches from scrap fabrics, and reimagining garments through their own personal style. Along the way, kids learn why sustainability matters in fashion, gaining awareness of waste, reuse, and conscious creativity. The class encourages problem-solving, confidence, and self-expression while giving students real design experience in a fun, supportive environment. By the end of the six weeks, every young designer will have a mini portfolio, several up-cycled creations, and a final wearable piece they’ve re-imagined and made themselves. No previous sewing or design experience required—just curiosity, creativity, and clothes ready for a second life! Wendy will share practical ways to navigate the season and show us how knowledge, ritual and creativity can aid in the integration of grief. Together, we will: - Learn about the nature of grief and tools for navigating hard days - Explore the history and healing power of ritual - Create a personalized candle ritual scape to take home - Share in community conversation and connection The heart of our time will be the Five-Candle Ritual, a simple yet profound way to honor loved ones we miss. Each candle represents sorrow, courage, memories, love, and hope. Whether practiced in community or privately, this ritual can become a grounding tradition throughout the holidays and beyond. All supplies are included, and you’ll leave with a ritual candlescape, handouts, and practices you can return to at home. This Veterans Day Weekend, SeaWorld San Diego is proud to partner with Navy Federal Credit Union to honor the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the annual Red, White and Blue Salute. This year’s celebration introduces exciting new features including a community pop-up area hosted by local non-profit organizations. These activations will spotlight community impact, provide resources for veterans and their families, and offer guests meaningful ways to engage with causes that support those who have served. Veterans, active-duty members and up to three family members will receive complimentary one-day admission tickets through the Waves of Honor program. Thanks to Navy Federal Credit Union, veterans and active-duty military members visiting the park Veterans Day weekend will also receive special benefits, including a priority entrance. Red, White & Blue Salute Schedule of Events Throughout the weekend, the park will open each day with a flag ceremony and the national anthem, paying tribute to the service and sacrifice of all the brave men and women who have protected the freedoms of all Americans. A Field of Honor will also be created in the park with 1,000 American flags to represent local veterans and their families. Guests will also be able to dedicate a flag with a personal note to their hero. In addition, the park will be recognizing veterans and their service at the Orca Encounter presentation all weekend long. Navy Federal Credit Union will also host an onsite activation during select hours each day and Veterans and active-duty service persons are encouraged to visit this activation located on Sky Tower Lawn. Local community organizations dedicated to supporting service members and veterans, including Wounded Warrior Foundation, Freedom Dogs, Wounded Warrior Project, Paws for Purple Hearts, Blue Star Families and more will have a dedicated pop-up area at Orca Encounter, in which guests will have the opportunity to engage with these organizations and learn more about their impactful missions. In addition, guests can also visit a dedicated photo backdrop to reflect, remember and pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed for the country. To cap off each night, guests can view a patriotic Veteran’s Day Fireworks Show presented by Navy Federal Credit Union from Saturday, November 8 through Monday, November 10. As the sun sets, the night sky will light up with a dazzling display of red, white and blue in celebration of the bravery and service of our nation's heroes. This special display will take place ten minutes prior to park closing. For those looking for unlimited fun throughout the year, SeaWorld offers former military personnel and their families the Military Silver Pass for just $113.
