Too often, he says, streets are designed to accommodate as many cars as possible at the fastest speed possible. Pedestrian and bike safety are often an afterthought. The annual San Diego St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival in San Diego, California, lives up to its reputation as being the largest Irish celebration west of the Mississippi. The event’s main attraction is the parade, which features over 120 floats complete with marching bands, bagpipers, traditional Irish dance troupes, police and fire departments, clowns and dignitaries. The festival portion boasts two stages of live music, a beer garden and a ride-filled kids' zone. After two years of no parade we are back! Bring the whole family and celebrate the season with mural-painting in Balboa Park! This activity is once again taking place outside in our museum's front plaza. The Timken Museum of Art will provide two large canvases and a variety of paint supplies for all park visitors to come and paint together on a large collaborative mural.
