Komen 3-Day® kicks off. Since 2010, the cheering station has been an annual outpouring of support from the community that welcomes the walkers with pink decor, signs, upbeat music, big smiles and encouragement. Cheerleaders from Torrey Pines High School, the Del Mar Lifeguards, local business owners and community residents line the streets to cheer the event participants on their journey as they travel more than 60 miles south to San Diego to raise funds and awareness in the fight to end breast cancer.
