"Arte As Resistance" is a fundraiser and celebration of art brought to our community from cultures around the world. All proceeds go directly to Todos Somos Migrantes (TSM), a nonprofit in San Diego, CA who works directly with the migrant community to ensure they are supported and aware of their rights as immigrants in this country. The event will begin with an art exhibition, after which the audience will enjoy a live performance of dance, music, poetry, and comedy. Art brings people together, instills us with resilience, power and hope. Art is a powerful change agent, starting with changing ourselves and our witnesses and rippling out to change the world. Art can provide a voice to our heart's deepest pain, joy, anger and truth. In this moment, it is crucial to uplift the voices in our community that have had the experience of immigrating to this country or have felt the love & bravery that this human right takes. For this reason, all artwork and performances are that of immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers and first generation. We deeply value their work and hope that this collaboration within our immigrant community is celebrated and felt by all those in attendance. The performances will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Tickets to the event are scaled according to need. Please select that ticket price that feels right for you. Todos Somos Migrantes (TSM) supports migrants, whether they have just arrived or are already here. They facilitate family reunifications, connecting the community with legal resources that allow them to see family members they haven't seen in decades. Each week, they host food distributions for our most vulnerable communities and support all people who have suffered or are experiencing domestic violence, providing them with legal and psychological counseling, as well as access to education that will enable them to work or open a business. Disney’s Newest Broadway JR Musical Comes to San Diego – Now Casting Local Youth for Fall Production! T3 Triple Threat Youth Mentors is thrilled to announce open auditions for "Dare to Dream JR," Disney’s brand-new Broadway JR release, coming to San Diego this fall. The production offers young performers ages 8–17 a professional-level musical theatre experience — and every participant is guaranteed a featured role, no child is turned away regardless of ability to pay! Auditions are Saturday, August 30, at the North Park Recreation Center. No prior experience is required — just a willingness to learn, collaborate, and shine on stage. “This is more than just a theatre class,” says Morie Williams, founder and director of nonprofit T3 Triple Threat. “Our students train like pros, build unshakable confidence, and experience the magic of live performance in a supportive and inclusive environment.” In addition to professional training in acting, singing, and dance, students participate in a fully staged production with costumes, sets, and choreography.
