This new Ship Model Gallery and adjacent passageway enhance the Maritime Museum of San Diego visitor experience with an artistic display of a number of significant donations of museum quality ship models and items which have been drawn from the Museum’s collections storage.This new exhibit employs models of historic vessels and as examples of both fine art and as engaging illustrations of our common seafaring heritage. Along with models that rank as pieces of fine art are other artifacts from the Maritime Museum of San Diego’s collection including the now retired fore-topsail of the Californian, the official tall ship of the state.Entrance to the Model Gallery exhibit and display space is included with the general admission ticket purchase.
