Visitors can visit the museum and receive a free themed Gallery Guide-led tour from 6 – 7 P.M. Explore our "Inaugural Collection Installation" that includes conceptual art from the 1960s to the present, showcasing works by internationally recognized artists to emerging talent, in addition to our two special exhibitions: "Art in America's" must-see museum show "Celia Álvarez Muñoz: Breaking the Binding" - Spanning forty years, this exhibition is the first career retrospective of Conceptual artist Celia Álvarez Muñoz (b. 1937, El Paso, TX). Featuring over thirty-five artworks – including large-scale immersive installations, photographic series, and book projects – this major exhibition highlights the artist’s playful, witty style, often characterized by her use of bilingual puns and mistranslations in both text and image. Muñoz often draws inspiration from her lived experience as a resident of the United States-Mexico borderlands. The artist's first solo museum show "Griselda Rosas: Yo te cuido" - Presents new textile drawings and sculptural installations that explore themes of inheritance and intergenerational knowledge. Rosas, who is based between San Diego and Tijuana, adopts embroidery skills learned from her mother, grandmother, and aunts, often using her young son’s drawings as foundations on which to layer, stitch, and build. Incorporating natural pigments and collage, Rosas combines these inventive images with colonial imagery to evoke a collision and circulation of cultures. Admission includes Free Third Thursday tour: Memories and Stories. Learn how artists use personal narratives and experiences to explore the societal and post-colonial realities of living in the border region. Space is limited to 25 people and is first come, first serve. Meet in Browar Lobby at 6 P.M. to join. Stay Connected on Social Media! Facebook | Instagram | Twitter
