  • Kids home for summer break can now take a spin on the historic Balboa Park Carousel every day of the week, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The extended hours are in effect until school is back in session on August 26. This year marks the 100th anniversary of San Diego’s most famous carousel, which still runs on its original GE motor and whose original animal menagerie, painted décor, military band organ, and brass ring game were recently restored.
