The ancient craft of weaving connects all ages with its range of options, from simple to complex. In this week-long camp, we’ll explore creative weaving on a lap loom, followed by warping and weaving on a rigid heddle loom. Using the principles of STEAM while honing fine motor skills and problem-solving, kids will: -Learn all about different fibers and their unique properties, -Use a variety of looms to learn the warping process, -Learn a variety of weaving techniques and best practices, -Design patterns and explore color palettes, -Explore their own styles, -Actively do math with hands-on creative weaving! This camp is recommended for teens, ages 13+ years old. OPTIONAL | Lunch Hour Supervision If there is a camp ending as ours begins and you need your child or teen transferred, let us know! If you’d like your child or teen to stay during the lunch hour, there’s a $25 fee for the week to cover the lunchtime gap. They can bring a lunch and have lunch with us with the option to craft after lunch, or head out to grab a lunch and head back to the studio to eat in a safe, welcoming space.
