San Diego Potters Guild is a juried membership of thirty-nine local clay artists. Twice a year on the second full weekends of June and November, potters fill the Spanish Village patio with thousands of handcrafted pots. Visitors may meet potters and watch demonstrations on the wheel. After the show pots from the Patio Show are available in Studio 29. Themed shows rotate throughout the year in the center gallery, surrounding shelves also display member work. May is National Preservation Month, and Coronado is joining communities nationwide in celebrating our unique heritage! We're fortunate to have so many meaningful historic places, and we'll be highlighting them throughout the month. Our celebrations include a City Council Proclamation, the presentation of plaques to recently designated historic homes, and the beloved Historic Home Tour on Mother's Day, May 11.The celebrations will culminate in the annual Preservation Symposium on Thursday, May 15 from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. The program will include a reception starting at 5:30 p.m. followed by the presentations from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Join Coronado MainStreet, the Historical Association, and the City of Coronado for the Preservation Symposium sponsored by the Coronado Community Foundation as we champion preservation in our community. Shelter to Soldier, in proud partnership with Foundation for Women Warriors, is excited to announce its third annual Sisterhood of Service event, presented by L’Auberge Del Mar. Taking place on Thursday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the beautiful L’Auberge Del Mar (1540 Camino Del Mar, Del Mar, CA 92014), this event is a heartfelt celebration recognizing the strength, resilience, and service of women veterans and active-duty military women. Created to foster connection, empowerment, and community, Sisterhood of Service provides a welcoming space for women who have served, and continue to serve, our country. The day will begin with an all-levels yoga session, followed by refreshments, networking opportunities, and access to resources tailored to the needs of women veterans. Attendees will also enjoy a catered lunch, hear from an inspirational guest speaker, and participate in an interactive goal-setting workshop. Visions Museum of Textile Art, located in the heart of Liberty Station's Arts District, celebrates and advances contemporary quilting and textile art through exhibitions that explore cultural traditions, contemporary relevance, and innovative creativity.
