  • Shelter to Soldier is excited to announce its 2nd annual Salute to Paws 5K and Gratitude Festival for Dogs on Sunday, November 9, at Fox Point Farms (1200 Fox Point Farms Lane, Encinitas, CA 92024). This fun-filled event aims to raise funds for Shelter to Soldier’s life-changing programs, which rescue dogs from local shelters and train them to become service animals for post-9/11 veterans suffering from PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, Military Sexual Trauma, and other injuries associated with traumatic service experiences. Join Shelter to Soldier in their mission of “Saving Lives, Two at a Time,” with a morning of fitness, gratitude, and family fun, with or without your four-legged family members. Registration opens at 8 a.m., followed by an all-levels yoga flow at 8:30 a.m. and 5K kickoff at 9:30 a.m. After you cross the finish line, stay for the Gratitude Festival for Dogs to give your pup a “high paw” and some well-deserved love. The Salute to Paws 5K & Gratitude Festival is a can’t-miss event for dog lovers, celebrating the beauty and unconditional love they bring to your world. Guests will enjoy picturesque views of the iconic Fox Point Farms, with live music by Dorian Tide, a Dog Spa by UNITE Doggy ‘Poo, Dog Bars by Furvor Pet, pet-focused vendors, and special activities to share your gratitude with your furry best friend. Visitors can also meet and greet adoptable dogs from The Animal Pad on Rescue Row powered by Petco Love, for those looking to add a faithful companion to their family. Make it extra special with our VIP Experience: complimentary specialty cocktails by Tito’s Handmade Vodka (21+), curated small bites, VIP gifts, and a custom pet picnic to savor moments with your canine best friend.   • Mainly Mozart, the San Diego nonprofit behind the internationally acclaimed Mainly Mozart All-Star Orchestra Festival, presents its first Club Amadeus Salon Concert Nov. 23, 2025 featuring acclaimed pianist Anton Nel. Club Amadeus is a series of four exclusive events showcasing top-tier classical artists in private, elegant settings. Internationally acclaimed and South African-born, Nel gained prominence after winning the 1987 Naumburg International Piano Competition at Carnegie Hall. Known for his masterful interpretations of Beethoven and versatility across repertoire, Nel has performed with leading orchestras including the Cleveland Orchestra, Chicago Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Seattle Symphony, and Detroit Symphony. In 2025, he will join the faculty at The Royal Conservatory of Music’s Glenn Gould School in Toronto. Earlier this year, Nel was announced as Mainly Mozart’s Artistic Partner for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. A longtime friend of the organization, Nel first joined the All-Star Orchestra Festival in 1989—as the festival’s very first featured soloist on the outdoor stage at The Old Globe. Each Club Amadeus event is hosted at a private residence and begin with a champagne reception and light appetizers at 2 p.m., followed by the concert at 3 p.m., and an intimate artist reception at 4 p.m. Club Amadeus membership is required for attendance.
