Scent-Sational: Create Your Own Signature Fragrance with a French Perfume Expert and Scent Strip Perfume This workshop is designed to introduce you to the world of perfumery. No previous experience with fragrance making is required. During the workshop, you will create your own signature scent using a variety of essential oils and fragrance notes provided by our French Perfume Designer, Jil Croquet. You will learn about Perfume composition, have fun smelling and enter the very secretive world of Perfume Formulation. You will learn how to blend and balance scents, as well as the basics of perfume making techniques. Never used a sewing machine before? Are your sewing skills a bit rusty and you’re in need of a little reminder? This course is for you! Learn the sewing basics – from the importance of following grainlines to learning how to read a pattern. Learn your way around a sewing machine and sew your own drawstring bag! Bring your own sewing machine or borrow one of ours. No experience necessary. All ages and skill levels welcome. Under 10 years old attends with parent or adult.

Come and explore the gorgeous natural blue of indigo in this perfect-for-summer workshop. Students will learn a range of shibori dye resist processes in this hands-on, creative workshop, including tegumo (spiderweb), ori nui (stitched), and itajime (clamped) shibori methods. We will be using a natural indigo vat to dye a bamboo scarf and better understand the process and symbiotic relationship with indigo dye and this traditional textile surface design. Students will acquire the basic techniques to continue their journey into creating beautiful, unique textiles. This class is appropriate for ages 12+ years old.
