In this workshop with side coach Aretha Sills open to players of all experience levels, we’ll explore Viola Spolin’s games and exercises that inspire theatrical improvisers to get out of the head and into the present time without any expectation of performing or being “on.” Our goal is to experience the many benefits of spontaneity and group play. Through a combination of meditative warm ups, sensory-awareness exercises, and delightful traditional children’s games, we’ll aim to have fun, release the intuition, and open up new avenues of personal expression. We will (briefly) touch on some of the contemporary brain science that helps us understand why Spolin’s work is so helpful in regulating our nervous systems, and find ways to take her playful methods into our everyday life when we find ourselves under pressure. Palomar Health said it won’t grant an easement for the Seguro Battery Storage Project near Escondido. The weekend kicks off on Friday, Dec. 13, with fans getting the first chance to purchase the jersey at Eighteen Threads, San Diego FC’s official retail shop at Mission Valley Mall – before it’s available anywhere else in-store. The festivities culminate on Sunday, Dec. 15 at the home of SDFC, Snapdragon Stadium, with the Chrome Ball Cup, featuring 5v5 tournaments for men’s, women’s, and youth teams, with cash prizes for the winning teams in each division. Little ones learn best through exploration. Each week your young child will explore crafts using safe, natural materials meant to engage curiosity and wonder. Through hands-on activities, your child will learn to express themselves in a creative way while practicing fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and much more. This series is a wonderful introduction to a creative and nurturing learning environment. During each session your child will work on a fun, engaging project they’ll eventually take home. This weekly series is full of hands-on crafts for early childhood. Projects are Waldorf, Reggio, & Montessori-inspired. All safe materials included. Projects and themes are changed monthly to keep young children grounded in rhythm with the shifting seasons. Students can return month after month to continue to explore, learn and develop their skills! Drop-ins are welcome! Is your child curious about craft & taking a class with other children?
