August 18, 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. During this highly interactive workshop, students will be encouraged to explore their artistic abilities as well as embrace one another’s creativity through positive interaction while handcrafting their very own batch of melt & pour soap. Areas of focus include soapmaking safety, recipe formulation, crafting with fragrances, colorants and embeds, molding, curing, labeling, packaging and gift design. Upon completion of this workshop, students will walk away with a basic understanding of how to craft their own batch of melt & pour soap at home. Best of all, each student will leave this workshop with plenty of soap for personal use or gifts to loved ones. No experience necessary.   • The Taste of Oceanside kicks off its 10th anniversary weekend with the Taste of Oceanside VIP experience on Friday, October 4 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Oceanside Museum of Art. Attendees will enjoy bites from four special Oceanside guest chefs, live music, and the opportunity to explore the museum’s galleries. The weekend kicks off on Friday, Dec. 13, with fans getting the first chance to purchase the jersey at Eighteen Threads, San Diego FC’s official retail shop at Mission Valley Mall – before it’s available anywhere else in-store. The festivities culminate on Sunday, Dec. 15 at the home of SDFC, Snapdragon Stadium, with the Chrome Ball Cup, featuring 5v5 tournaments for men’s, women’s, and youth teams, with cash prizes for the winning teams in each division. Fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to purchase their inaugural home jersey on-site at the Chrome Ball Cup.
